Her Kilted Wolf: Interview with Colin

The hero from Her Kilted Wolf, Colin MacPherson, agreed to sit down with me for an interview.  Enjoy!

Tabitha: You’re a pretty smooth guy. What’s the most embarrassing thing to ever happen to you?

Colin: When I was but fifteen, I had the worst crush on a young human girl down in the village. I even convinced myself she was my mate. One night, my mates and I went into town to celebrate something—I’ve no idea what—and on the way back to the Stronghold, I ran into the girl. Weel, by then ‘inebriated’ was too mild a word to describe me. That, combined with my strong feelings for her, overwhelmed my stomach and I threw up all over her shoes. Might’ve been a bit on her jeans as well. Needless to say, my hopes with her were dashed. My mates didn’t let me forget the incident for many years.

Tabitha: Is that your greatest regret?

Colin: Nay, my greatest regret is that I had a past that my mate had to find out about. At the time, I enjoyed myself thoroughly, but now I wish most of it hadn’t happened.

Tabitha: You and your mate, Mattie, are polar opposites in many ways. How do the two of you make it work? (I assume you do make it work?)

Colin: Love, and much time spent in the bedroom. If Mattie heard me say that, she’d no doubt smack my arm but good. But ‘tis the truth. There’s nothing that can’t be solved, so long as the lovin’ is taken care of.

Tabitha: Sounds like you have a good plan. Still, it must be a strain to have to split your time between the U.S. and Scotland. How’s that working out?

Colin: ‘Tis not so bad as you might think. Just when I’m thinking I canna stand another minute with my in-laws, we up and fly to Scotland. The flyin’ part is the worst of it. They need to come up with a better way to get from one place to another.

Tabitha: Does it ever bother you that she’s higher ranked in her pack than you are in yours?

Colin: Not a bit. And if anyone has a problem with it, I just send them to her. Y’see, the fact that she’s so highly ranked means she can clean the clock of any upstart who dares to say an unkind word to her or hers. And I am hers, no doubt.

Tabitha: Dare I ask—can we expect cubs any time soon?

Colin: Ach, if I had a farthing for every time I’ve heard that question! Just how would we handle bairns while we’re traveling back and forth across the ocean so much? Ask yourself that!

Tabitha: Sorry, sorry. Didn’t mean to hit a sore spot. We’re almost done.

I’m asking everyone this question — Rumors are flying that we’ll be colliding with another world very soon. What preparations have you made for the Collision?

Colin: You’ll understand – any plans the pack has made are not mine to share. Ask Lachlan.

Tabitha: Last question. What’s under your kilt?

Colin: Sad to say, there are quite a few women who know the answer to that. But from now on, that’s a secret between Mattie and me, and I aim to keep it that way.

Next up: I’m editing on His Dragon Heart, a long shifter romance novella set in the Colliding Worlds series that tells the story of Gillian (Keira’s sister) and the dragon shifter Damon, who kidnapped Gillian at the beginning of Her Scottish Alpha.  I’m also working on the rough draft of Long Night’s Moon, the next book in the Mad Wolf’s Harem series.
